98 S70 N/A 5-speed, Rear Spring Question: Correcting Rear-end Sag

Hey, tryingbe, thanks for the message. I've never seen these before! Are these used primarily for raising saggy springs?

Since we're sharing pictures of saggy rear ends, I thought I'd offer mine for critique. I hadn't thought to measure from the wheel center on the 2000 V70 base MT, instead trying to determine the height of the tire to the fender. It's about 1.25" on the rear, and about 2.5" in the front.

The more I've worked on this fixer-upper, the more I've enjoyed driving it, and I'm thinking that new springs and shocks would do wonders for it. My brother (thewifes_s70) and I replaced the front struts but not the springs.

The previous owner had a 1.25" hitch on the car, so my guess is that towing might have caused the rear springs to wear prematurely. It needs new shocks anyway, so I'm hoping it's not that much more work.

(And yes, that is a newer V70 in the driveway in the background — not mine.)

If you dig back in my posts I made measurements on the rear ground to fender with old and the New springs to compare

Now that you've run them a while, what is your assessment of the IPD overload rear springs? I like them on my 98.

I love the ride on the 99. I did all four corners at about 160k miles (40k ago) and it’s a tight ride, not too bouncy

I did IPD springsfront back and Sachs for struts

I can feel the difference in yours vs mine with your newer front end suspension. At lot better "go where indicated" on it. Mine wanders just a little bit.

The rear on mine could have been used to ship materials to the space station with an appropriately side speed bump or pot hole at speed before those assemblies were replaced.
