Pretty close to me. I don't think it even takes me 10 minutes to get there.beigg wrote:How far away (under 10 minutes?) was A & E Motorsports?songzunhuang wrote:Just for completeness, I took my car to a independent shop in Santa Cruz, CA called A & E Motorsports. The owner (Jeremy) is a Volvo guy and drives a V70 while his wife drives an XC90. I found him on Yelp and his shop had a 5 star review after 6 years of business! You almost never see a perfect 5 star review. So, I decided to take the car here instead of the Volvo dealer, which is a 35 minutes drive away from me.abscate wrote:Robert gets the Spinner Cup for this one....
I should have advised you to use spray to test for idle fluctuation, well done by the dealer. They earned their money on this one
In the end, I am glad I did it.
Yes, Robert gets the award! Although I did visually check the manifold and the torque of the bolts, there were areas that a visual from above just could not spot. I have never in my life had a gasket fail on any of the cars I have owned. I didn't even think to look for that. I was looking for cracked or worn rubber hoses and such.
Here's a link to their Yelp page. http://www.yelp.com/biz/ae-motorsports-santa-cruz-2
And a link to the shop's website: http://www.aemotorsportsc.com/
Ask for Jeremy. I was super happy with their service and will be adding another great review for them.
