I think oragex hit on a bigger issue. While at a gas place that my work uses I heard the delivery driver ask where to put the rest of the 87 since the those tanks were now full. Owner said to put the rest in the other tanks! My eyes went wide open as I looked at the owner.

Hi,

What is the conversion factor?

Thanks.
I’ve been driving a Volvo long before anyone ever paid me to drive one.
That's probably because I've been driving one since 2015 and nobody has offered to pay me yet.

Huh? I use Mobil 1 oil and often pump Shell gas. What is suppose to be the problem with that?

You missed abscate's subtle joke here. Nothing wrong with Shell gas and Mobil oil used at the same time. June

Hi,

What is the conversion factor?

Our87 octane gas is the same as 91 octane in Europe..

Good schmell or bad schmell?

Switched from Stewarts to a different source recently - ended up with much better performance. Now if I can just remember where I filled up, I'd be all set. Time to check my receipts...

Next time you see the big rig filling the tanks at your local gas place ask the driver. Most haulers are local that all go to the same fuel depot, fill up and add the brand name fuel's required additives. Unbranded stations get the same gas minus the additives and even that can get muddied into the drivers delivery route stops for that day. A large chain gas/mini mart in my area reportedly uses BP but will negotiate with Exxon and Shell when needed. The unbranded gas station owner is required to buy minimum volumes which would explain why I saw the driver putting 87 into the 89 and 91 tanks. The oil companies spend millions of dollars advertising their additives. The Feds require all gas to meet certain standards without the additives. Best advice, now your car, your gas station.

WCM - the 93 octane at the Stewarts is ethanol free - and once the kids are older and are eating you out of house and home the loyalty program at PC means I pay about $1.50 to 2 bucks a gallon for 93 octane. I might actually use it with my turbo hooked up correctly

I really should sell this car to someone who wants a HPT - i realize I never rev over 3000 the way I drive. Im calling it July driving - Im always going to be following June.

Just for giggles I took it down to Route 32 to get burgers last night and took it up to 4000-5000 - the power up there is amazing.

Turns out it was a different Stewarts - with newer tanks & dispensers...

I've also filled up at the occasional Pilot/Flying J. Unfortunately I believe that to be ethanol diluted.
