While your waiting, compression tests, glove test, pull plugs check condition ... ect, in other words get a profile of the general health of the engine.

On my 1999...

Front abs sensors. One M6 10mm head bolt vertical
Plan on removing the wheel to get the sensor out. Possible with wheel on but gnarly in there

On rear , one horizontal torx. My sensor was really stuck. Destroyed it getting it out. Easy to remove with wheel in if it isn’t frozen but the harness has to be fished up into trunk area. On the 1999 the two ABS sensors come as a one piece loom with two sensors connected.

I’ve soldered the wires about 6 times but if there is any flex at the break the repair doesn’t last , the longest I made it was 3 years.

I’m not sure the sensors fault unless they get overheated and melt. Inspect the wires and I bet there is a break.

You lose ABS and cruise control if a sensor faults or wire breaks , I think in some engine systems it can cause limp transmission mode too?

I used Delphi aftermarket for my last one ( don’t hate me June)

Recent thread with pictures under part numbers too

My ABS and cruise control both work.

Todays project-heater core and O rings have been replaced!
Now waiting for the mailman to bring me the lift gate struts, shop manuel and Vida+dice.

Ill be doing a bit of cleaning in the front seats while I wait....there may be a little bit of antifreeze on the drivers side *cough*

Toss a 13 gallon trash bag under the core as you undo the pipes to it.

Drain the coolant from the radiator first - makes a lot less mess.

If all else fails, replace the bag with a shopvac.

Don't forget the heater hoses & radiator hoses are likely from '98, unless you've already replaced them.

I suggest you get the RePack version of Vida. It can be used in a updated Windows 7 environment or a Windows 10 environment. Good chance your need the 2099 patch which is on page 1. The RePack is on page 6. Vida Repack and 2099 Patch

If you have any questions about Vida-DiCE, ask then in the Vida, Vadis, DiCE form.

The online website that allows you to download a copy of desired car user manuals without any charges.

Owners manuals does not do any good. He needs REPAIR and SERVICE manuals.
Workshop manuals cannot be down loaded ... This is click bait.
Hate it when leaches try to ride on other's work.

If there were actual repair manuals floating around, I would jump on that in a heartbeat. The FSM for my 4runner has been a godsend.
