My '96 850 cleared inspection today, so it's now street legal for another two years

The inspector suggested the handbrake to be adjusted and more worryingly he found the rubber on the driver's side tie rod end had split. That rod end was replaced only two years ago and I've driven less than 10K km (6000 miles) since then due to the engine struggles I've had. The shop that replaced it put on a Scan-Tech rod end, which I knew probably wouldn't last for very long, but I didn't have time to wait for a better part.

I'll be replacing it along with the front struts when the weather hopefully gets a bit warmer.

Is Lemförder still considered a good part when it comes to tie rod ends?

Lemforder is still pretty much the standard. I went with Meyle, about 8k-10k miles later they're holding up well.

Nice 9-5! I've missed my Aero since I sold it in January.

Also, diggin' that Saab in front. I had a '01 SE V6 in front of my '98 V70 for a couple of years.

My twine-and-knots "fix" for the right corner light didn't work as well as I had expected, so I splurged for an aftermarket part that seems to fit well. Now I just have to figure out how to fix the sagging front bumper!

I don’t think that turn signal is in right yet.

Have to hit mahwah tomorrow before storm, do you have the Volvo guest room open Incase I get stuck??

I got it from amazon, it’s a stitch on steering wheel cover kit from “Aully Park”. I did not like the way they recommended that it be installed so I ran a seam up each side and then stitched it together like a normal leather wrap. Took a while but turned out well, especially for the $15 I have invested in it.

It’s from “Aully Park” on Amazon. Surprisingly nice leather for the price. I got the 9-5 for $700, it’s a pretty fun car now that it doesn’t spray oil.

I know that struggle... they're great cars though! I paid $400 for mine, it needed a head gasket. Replaced it along with a bunch of other things, drove it for a month and the head gasket started leaking again. The PO neglected to inform me that it was overheated... I'm assuming the issue was that I never bothered to have the head resurfaced.
The thing was a blast to drive though. Easily the best car I've owned.

Man that thing is pretty. Mine is ugly for now, but I did do the td04 upgrade and a bcb tune, it’s surprisingly quick.
