2000 s40 windshield wipers speed ..

Hi
My 2000 s40 windshield wipers now only work on high speed.

I replaced the stalk controller still same..
this problem gradually got worse over time..it started with the intermittent

then low..
now only high speed works..Also they will not park.

I have heard that wipers speeds may be attached to the engine control module?

Is that possible?

My first guess would be a relay issue.

The only thing I see in Haynes manual is that the "wiper relay is an integral part of the switch assembly".

You changed the switch. Are you sure the replacement switch is good?
