Belt tensioner torx bit

Post by turbotim2 »

04 XC70
Can someone tell what size the torx bit is for the tensioner on the drive belt? I have borrowed the bit in the past and remember it being a T75 but I want to be sure before I buy one. Thanks!

If you have the 14mm bolt in the center (there may be a cover over it), you can grab it by this bolt @ 19:20 in this video

T60 or 14mm is correct.
The fcp tool makes it easier to get in there.

14 mm is correct and so much easier than a torx head bit or socket.

Consider a ratcheting 14 mm box wrench with a pipe over it to make the lever long. Then the job is simple and you have a nice wrench you can use in dozens of other places.

I believe the transition from Torx to 14mm hex head was in the ba$tards 1999.
