Took it to a great little shop I found here. For no fee, they put it on the lift and checked everything out. They said all the parts look and feel solid, other than the bushings. Much easier to check things out on the lift. Other than the bushing pictured, there's another one almost popped out. He said there's a Volvo specific tool for installation of the OEM bushings which they don't have, and he thinks maybe the shop I brought it to for installation didn't have it either, hence the early failure.

Sounds like these ones don't need any special tool to install, just get pressed in normally. It may be some time before I'm free before I can get this taken care of, but I'm looking forward to the results. I hate suspension issues.
