2011 C30 product plate/paint code location?

Post by greentea »

Hi, I'm looking for the paint code for my 2011 Volvo C30. I've searched inside both doors. If it's in the engine compartment or on the firewall, it's certainly not in an easily noticeable place because I've looked and looked. I've read that it's on the rear of the passenger side 'B' pillar. It's not inside that door. Do I have to remove the trim in the backseat to see it? The label inside the driver's door doesn't give any paint code information or anything like that.

I've tried looking it up by using my Chinese VIDA and reading it that way, but it won't read the "vehicle details" when I click on that.
That's frustrating because it actually has a space for vehicle color code, but it remains blank as VIDA says, "No connection with QW90 available. Please contact your local Helpdesk. No connection with PIE available." So I've had no luck there.

I'd appreciate any help if anyone else has encountered this.

Thanks!

It should be on the passenger's B pillar.

Thanks. I wish mine was there, but for some reason it's not. It's strange. I can't imagine the previous owner taking it off.

My best guess is, its has been in a Body Shop.

Monitors don't replicate colors dependably. On my monitor, it looks like your paint is one of three colors.
Paint code 426 Mystic Silver Metallic.
Paint code 477 Electric Silver Metallic.
Paint code 455 Titanium Gray Pearl.
A paint store or a paint shop could narrow it down with a Spectrophotometer.

Did you install the patch after you installed Vida?

I did install the VIDA patch when I initially got it up and running. I had to do another patch back in January to make it work in 2018. I don't know if that last one would have affected the earlier one.

I'm actually having the paint touched up. My painter thinks it's 426, but I was wanting to find that plate to confirm. I'm not sure if any of the paint stores around here would have a spectrophotometer, but it's worth a call to see. Thanks for the tip.

VIDA's diagnostic section and everything else seems to work, just not the "vehicle details" section, which I'm not sure I've ever used on the many Volvos I've had this VIDA hooked up to, so I don't know if it's ever worked.

Well, I ended up calling the dealership and found that it is 426, one of the ones you thought it might be. Mystic silver. Thanks for all of the assistance. This site is great!

QW90 and PIE are external databases. Unless you pay you out of the nose, you don't have access.
