People don't know how to properly care for the vinyl coating on automotive leather. Leather in my '06 shows no sign of degradation. But I use a UV blocking conditioner formulated specifically to work with vinyl. Because the vinyl is what you're really taking care of. The leather underneath is sealed and you need never worry about it...unless the vinyl coating breaks down.Teddy1975 wrote: 07 Feb 2018, 15:15 I just have to say that I'm always shocked by the sorry state of leather seats in even "newer" cars for sale.
Maybe they just don't look well on photos?
The fact that automotive leather and things like low-mid price home leather furniture, handbags etc are usually vinyl coated doesn't seem to be common knowledge.
