- Plastic fuel tank: get underneath the car and look.

- Or look in the trunk.

- I think it is time for you to get a used PEM from junkyard or ebay.

I bought a used PEM. Going to replace mine soon. Any tips on how to replace it on a metal fuel tank?

Back right wheel up on a ramp.

7mm hex on a small 1/4 drive ratchet, undo the hex bolt until it comes off, then reach up and pull the metal spring , sort of stamped sheet metal version, off.

Ease the wiring from the metal clip, opening with small screwdriver helps

Then slide the PEM to the right, lift up and out.

Total, about 5 minutes

You can also search threads for part 8634953 and 30769225 for procedures and pics

I think the 30769225 is more inclusive

So I looked under the car and could not find the PEM. I didn't see anything on top of the tank.

I attached some pics of my metal fuel tank. The second pic is of the top right corner of the tank. Any ideas?

- You keep saying "metal fuel tank" in your posts, but looking at it, it does not look like "metal" to me.

- Also, post better photos (camera closer to the ground so it covers more area).

- Search forum for other locations: under REAR seat, trunk etc.

- Post back what you found.

- Also, the photos above showed mostly the trunk space for the spare tire, not the fuel tank itself.
