Since good reman driveshafts are hard to come by these days i am wondering which driveshafts fit which vehicles. Just in case someone comes by a donor at the junkyard or somewhere else, what are the parameters to match so you can expext them to fit.
My guess would be up to 98 and after 98 would be different, as well as manual and automagic. Are NA and turbo different? And then, internationally speaking, there was the diesel 850/V70.
I have no idea about driveshafts on P80 cars, but i guess over time it might be relevant and useful to P80 owners who want to keep their cars running as long as possible.

You got the basics, Manual vs Auto, up to 98, 99 up. Also for the passenger side FWD vs AWD. and there are subsets in AWD based on chassis number.

1998 POS70 N/A: DD/training aid, 236k but really about 240k, I think...ABS module( passed on to son who sold it)

I think Turbo and NA automatic transmissions are different. Are the driveshafts different as well?

At least in the US, 2000 model NA automatics have AW55 5 speeds while the turbo models have AW50-42 4 speeds. Otherwise -1999 models all have the same AW50-42.

Auto axles are different, in at least for the balancing weight that is attached to the driver side..
I wouldn't buy them from an austrian junkyard btw - I did that once and had to return it - it was bad too. Most of the cars ending up there are already completely worn out.
I'd recommend ordering them from sweden... https://www.bildelsbasen.se - shipping is very expensive, but they have low mileage stuff - might be worth it.
