VIDA makes the P0455 easier to troubleshoot

You know how it takes you days/weeks to get your P0455 to return? You can do it in 15 seconds if you have VIDA and some time. This allows the iterations required to get that pesky code gone for good take minutes instead of days or weeks.

Go into the ECM and look for advanced... After some Q&A you'll get the Swift Test you can run - that opens this window and you click Start. This forces it to cycle through the Evap/PCV test as long as your coolant is at ~87c or above. This also confirms Abscate's observations...

You can now get your immediate pass/fail. I believe it will also set the flags for this test so when queried by the inspection station this will show as completed - if you slayed the P0455 dragon!

Wow! Great! Unfortunately I'm not able to do this using VIDA. I wonder if VADIS + a DICE box would work?

Yes, it does require a DICE box.

Yes, it does require a DICE box.

I've always wanted to get VADIS + Dice set-up. I have VADIS running from a CD on an old WXP LT. No DICE box though. Not sure who still uses them.

I'm running an old Dell Latitude D630 w/4GB ram and a small SSD.

Why such an old laptop? 1. I'm cheap 2. It has a "REAL" serial port. 3. It frequently ends up on the motorcycle and seems to survive.
