I've never dropped the trans but I've pulled the engine a few times and its not bad at all if you have space, a hoist and time. Then you can easily d timing parts, check and service all PCV including the passage into the pan, change the OIL PAN O-rings (which are almost certainly needed) and be really thorough on the refresh.

As long as the AC cycles as it should, that is thr clutch working and not being stuck, why do anything? One of the best ways to ruin it is to keep it off for too long :-)

You can either cherrypick the engine and trans up together or lowersubframe and engine and pull the trans underneath.

Oh yes, when I say pull the engine I mean engine and trans together.

How did you pull the mileage on a 94? Just curious. There a connector somewhere that I don't know about? Bc I'd love to have an interface!

Pull the AC fuse, if it still runs the AC clutch is over adjusted and too close. Which is extremely unusual. As it was said before someone probably over adjusted it with ziptie/bread ties. I use guitar picks to adjust my schedule clutches. Much easier to be spot on as they are a more standard thickness. :-)

Can't wait to see your write-ups on pulling the engine!

Are you sure the ACclutch is engaged? 50F Cool
Air will feel like AC even if the system is off. Double check by watching the outside of the AC clutch and see if the flat face is spinning ( on) or not ( off)

These cars turn on the AC automatically if you select defrost mode ( true for 94?) so if that linkage is misadjusted that could be commanding full time AC

You should also check the cabin temp sensor. Look above your head on the headliner above the door and clean the junk out of the fan, search here for test data on the cabin temperature sensor specs

Out of curiosity - how do you check this? I have a 94 850 Wagon I'm trying to sell, and the odometer has been stuck on 127 since we bought it. Would be kinda cool to find out how many miles this thing actually has (our guess is 200k, but who knows)
