Windshield issues-a seal problem or heater core

Post by davidhaberstroh123 »

Everytime it is raining or muggy my windshield starts fogging up and in order to get rid of it I need to turn on the defroster. When I do this the airconditioning comes on and clears it up. First great that it is fixed but why does the defroster not put our heat. I cant seem to figure out how to change that to heat.

I am also not sure if it is because of a leak in the heater core or a broken seal in the windshield.

Any home remedies anyone would like to suggest.

I don't know about the automatic mode, but in manual mode (when you depress one or more of the three buttons with the little man), you can engage the A/C and also turn the heat knobs to actually warm up the A/C air. This should blow warm and dry air towards the windshield and un-fog it while also warming up the cabin.

There's no way to manually force the ac to work with heat on except perhaps the defrost button. Pushing the little man doesn't do it.

I'd start by checking the drains from air ducts.

Not sure what you mean by checking the drains from air ducts???? Can you clarify?
I appreciate both responses but they sounds like you all are saying is that pressing the little man will not do anything?? Am I reading that correct?
