VOLVO VIDA 2014D Install notes

Hi, I just installed the software for VOLVO VIDA 2014D. There is an issue with the license expiring in 2017. Here are my steps.

I used an old DELL laptop with a clean install of Windows 7 Enterprise,  then found a download for Internet Explorer 9 on (https://internet-explorer-9-64-bit.en.softonic.com) I refused to sign in with via Facebook but fortunately there was another link for downloading.  Make sure it is the 64-bit version for windows 7.  
 
In the control panel, minimize the Firewall settings (Systems and Security) and turn the User Account Control (UAC) to never notify (Action Center/User account control settings).  I don’t know if the firewall relaxation is really necessary. In my case, the computer is useless for anything else.
Ran the setup under "open as administrator"
After completion do not restart.
Copy TSKILL.exe from Windows\System32 to Windows\SystWOW64
 
Running the patch resulted in a failed login.
Now the trick that DID work.
Using WinRAR I opened the 'Volvo VIDA 2014D Patch' then navigated to the folder VIDA/patch.
You can open the license file with notepad.
The license is set to expire 12-31-2017.  Edit this to 12-31-2025 or beyond.  You can then save this file with it still incorporated in the patch.
Opened the Patch in admin mode.
The installation location is c:/
When I did these steps no errors were generated.
Re-booted the computer and waited until the VIDA process monitor started.
Then VIDA all-in-one opened as it should. Fantastic.
 
I suspect that if you already have VIDA and haven't used it since the New Year then it may not launch since the license is expired.
 
Comedy Note:  The DVD included a .TVS video.  So I downloaded TeamViewer to watch it. The video was a 66 minute taping of somebody's computer screen while they unzipped the files, performed the installation, text-chatted with clients, etc...  In the end the person could NOT get the patch to install. And it ended. Awesomely bad tutorial video.

Patch for subscription extension, links to a version of 2014D that works with Internet Explorer 11 with Windows 8 or 10. Windows 7 with the Chrome conversion. Some other exchancements beyond that.

Patch is approaching 12,000 downloads and no complaints.
