s70 knock snsors How many and where located
hello i have a 1999 s70 non turbo 2.4 im having knock sensor codes and have removed intake and can only find one sensor where every book ive looked in shows 2 sensors about 6 inches apart but i only see one and parts say 2 required soooo wheres the second one located? any help would be great

On a 99 there could be one knock sensor or two. Either way there is only one connector. I don't know which cars came with only one, but sounds like yours did.

According to Vida, the S70 base (non-turbo) has the knock sensor option with only one sensor, listed as #10a in Erik's picture above.
Repair info does not specify the orientation of the sensor, but the picture shows it at 6 'o'clock, or with the cable exiting directly down, fed down behind the starter motor bracket and torque to 20Nm.

... your knock sensor codes probably aren’t caused by a bad knock Sensor, either

Thanks for the info atleast now i dont feel like im crazy. ok abscate if not the sensor causing the code then any ideal what i need to look into? Thanks again for the help
