Rebuilding a mitsu TD04HL-16T from an 04 C70 T5. Done several before. Used a Mellet kit. The piston ring pushed onto the last groove on the turbine wheel shaft. It won’t fit into the chra despite polishing both sides very well when I cleaned everything. So I removed the piston ring from the shaft and hand set it into the chra to try to get it back to a good round size. Thought from here I could set the shaft into the chra but the first land won’t clear the piston ring. Period. So now how do i get the the piston ring out of the chra? Tried picks. I intend to put it back into the shaft and see if it will drop in. But I can’t get the piston ring out now like I said. Thoughts?
