MAF Code: P0101

Post by Allen3volvos »

I have a 2006 S60R with 143000 miles. Snabb MAF to turbo pipe, IPD intercooler to throttle body heavy silicone pipe, IPD turbo controller solenoid. I have been chasing the P0101 code for over three months. I also have misfires in cylinders 1 and 2 but not enough to set a misfire code. The car has no symptoms. Acceleration is great, fuel consumption is normal.
The MAF is a Bosch and is new. The wires and contacts are good. The data stream from the MAF is constant and the values match the values I have gathered from others.
The oxygen sensor, fuel filter, and air filters are new. There is a new plug, new coil, and new injector on cylinder 1. The rest of the injectors have been cleaned and the strainers and seals replaced.
I replaced all of the vacuum hoses that were old and it passed a smoke test.
The MAP is accurate and so is the turbo boost pressure sensor. I compared the scan tool readings with a manual manometer. The fuel pressure sensor is accurate and matches a manual gauge at 300Kpa.
I cleaned the throttle body and checked the ETM for broken or stripped gears, all good. The purge valve works and will hold a vacuum when closed so no leak there. The long term fuel trim was at -1.6% when the code was set. The short term fuel trim varies between 3.9% and -1.5% at idle. It follows the sine wave from the oxygen sensor.

I do not know where to go next. I feel the pain of this P0101 code.
Does anyone have any other ideas before I start paying for a shop to chase this dreaded code? It will not pass the smog test, for registration, so I have not been driving it.

Thanks.

Check for:
  • 1. Air leakage in the Air Intake system, cracked hoses, loose joints, defective Intake gasket.
    2. Blockage in the Air Intake System

Thanks. I will check the intake for a blockage. The rest of the intake system is solid.
