740 front lower Alternator Arm bracket

740 front lower Alternator Arm bracket
Does anyone know if the 740 requires a front lower alternator arm bracket that supports up against the 13mm nut from the tensioner assembly in back? I can't figure out why mine had the top AC arm bracket attached there. After numerous "breaks" of the alternator tensioning bolt I am stumped and can't figure out what really supports the alternator tension off that bolt. Yeah I know your suppose to adjust the tensioning bolt first then tighten the 13mm cross bolt nut from the tensioner arm bracket that rests lower and behind the alternator. I need some help here, I can't find any pic's online.

Does bracket 7b attach with 8 and 7a? I am missing this bracket. On my volvo 7b is a tension bracket for the AC pump. On this schematic bracket 7b appears to be a straight support between the alt. and AC pump. Is this correct? I do not have 13. Does 13 act as a safety guard or is it supporting the alt tension off the tension bolt?

I have a 93-944, but it has a 1984 B23F engine in it, which means I have a modified setup. I have two belts, but one goes to AC, and the other to Alternator, separately.
But, from a structural viewpoint, 7 and 7b and 7a slap together, and 7a's other end must be secured to something else. Yes, 13 would be a safety shield, and mine is gone also. I suspect alternator stays in place, and AC is being moved.

The 6mm (10mm hex) tension adjusting bolt is supposed to be backed off a bit after tightening the 8mm (13mm hex) nut. The reasoning is that it prevents the 6mm bolt from breaking.

Bracket 7 attaches to the rubber bushing near the middle of the mounting frame and the adjustment bolt on the other other end at the alternator lower mounting bolt. Not sure if that all makes sense but that's how it is installed.

Yes I did this. Does your 13mm nut from the back of the tensioner have a arm bracket attached to it for additional support

Yes that is correct. Now, do you have an additional bracket arm at the alt nut with the adjustment bolt?
