Looking to swap my 96 855 auto to a manual. I think I have the knowhow and have seen the swap threads. My question is on parts sourcing.
Is a late model M56 5 speed from an early s60 or v70 (01-03ish) a straight swap into an 850? If not, what doesn't work? Do all of the mounts and holes line up? I have been having a rough time finding a 5 speed 850 worthy of dismantling.
What about all of the other bits? Shift cables, pedal assy, shifter knob, reverse switch, etc?
My gut says the transmission itself will mount and function just fine, but I'd need to source and 850- style slave cylinder (I think the s60s have an internal slave?) along with the pedals.
