Some audio know how needed

Removed the HU 850 and installed an android head unit. All wiring went smoothly everything works BUT the steering wheel controls. The unit has leads for SWC but I do not know where the wiring from steering connection might be found. Know there are 4 wires ,2 for cruise etc. and 2 for radio but do not want to tap into wrong one. Thanks

The steering wheel buttons all go through the can network. The head unit needs a model specific can translator for it to work using the can wires in the head unit harness. Does the specs say it has one?

Yes it has it built in. I hear it is connected to the can but just wondering where I might find the correct wires to tap into.

There are just two. Green and white in the head unit harness. They do buttons, light dimming etc.

Thanks feel like a dummy- the adaptor harness did not have can connection and I thought I had all the proper wires connected. Guess I will have to pull it out and make sure all factory wires have the proper place connected
