Xemodex is certainly an option but sloooooowww!!

Contact either Doublebug or Yagger (both of them are forum members)

They can clone the original CEM over the internet for small dollars. Yagger or Doublebug will send you a small OBDII tool (that you can keep if you like) that does the keys and the rest is done with Dice. Doublebug and I have programmed around 9 or 10 CEMs over the internet and our latest was a 2005 2.5T XC90

If you plug in the original CEM and go to Network can you still see software versions in Vida?

Communication error:
Use the standalone DiCE diagnostic to test the hardware. Look in the start menu under DiCE.
Where did you get the copy of VIDA you have installed?
What version(s) of .Net Framework do you have installed?
What version of Windows?

You are in the US, you need to change the partner group from INT to AME.

Ok I may have found my problem with Vida working. The computer is running 64-bit Windows 7pro, while the device driver is a 32-bit version. Does anyone know where I can download a 64 bit Vida device driver?

32bit is not the problem. All DiCE drivers are 32bit and they work on 64bit systems.

If you think there is something wrong with the driver, go to the disk or .iso \3PP\Products\DiCE and run SetupDiCE.exe It will re-install the correct driver.

I think you need to enable IE Hosting.

SOLUTION: Locate on your VIDA DVD the directory D:\Install\Utils (substitute D: for your actual VIDA DVD location) and the file "EnableIEHostingx64.reg" and merge it with the registry by double clicking on it and then select "Yes" and "OK". For x86 systems do the same with "EnableIEHostingx86.reg" Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

If you are comfortable editing your registry, you can manually make the entry. The directory in the registry should exist - you will need to add the variable. Use whichever is appropriate:

EnableIEHostingx64.reg
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\MICROSOFT\.NETFramework]
"EnableIEHosting"=dword:00000001

EnableIEHostingx86.reg
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\.NETFramework]
"EnableIEHosting"=dword:00000001

See if that gets it talking.

Hey how's it going folks, thanks for all the replies. I now have a used cem, and working installation of Vida. What I need now is the procedure for copying the old cem and reinstalling the data on the new one. Any points towards the right direction are appreciated thanks.

exzile9 - I sent you a PM, but before chasing that route, are you using a like for like used CEM? Did it come from an XC90 of the same year and same engine/transmission configuration?
