2007 S80 hood switch harness location
I picked up an 07 S80 and the previous owner hacked the hood release switch, and cable on the driver side . I picked up a new latch WITH the switch on it , but the harness on the car side is nowhere to be found . Can anyone give me the location of the harness on the driver side or maybe a picture of the location ? Thank you in advance !!!!

Do you have the schematic on the location of the hood switch harness ? The small toggle that trips the “hood open” on the dash? It’s a female end coming off the driver side latch but I can’t find the harness on the car side to plug it into .RickHaleParker wrote: ↑09 Jun 2018, 02:29 High resolution image. Maybe it’s the switch for cars equipped with alarm ? Not entirely sure . It’s a wire harness coming out of the hood latch with a small plunger type toggle switchRickHaleParker wrote: ↑09 Jun 2018, 02:29 High resolution image. Three levels click to zoom.

An electrical switch in the hood lock would be for the Anti-theft.
For security reasons, there is not much lot published on the Anti-theft system.
Your best option is to go to a pick-in-pull and look through the S80s until you find one with a factory Anti-theft.
Reversing somebody's botch up can be nerve racking, time consuming and expensive.
I would think the easiest way to hack it would of been to short the end of the harness, you see anything like that?

Nothing ! Its making me crazy .. pulled the grill , the air box , driver headlight and literally spent a couple hours looking for this plug with zero luck .. The wire coming off the new hood latch is only about 6 inches long so I’ve been looking in that vicinity. I just want the “engine hood open” warning off my cluster lol

You might be looking in all the wrong places. Some of these cars have a hood open sensor, Anti-theft or no Anti-theft. At least some of them work like the light switch on your refrigerator door.

I’ll keep looking .. I’m pretty sure the previous owner removed it . He said the hood stuck so he took the driver side hood latch out .. when I got the new latch , it has the switch built in, harness coming out of it , but the car has no where to plug it lol.RickHaleParker wrote: ↑09 Jun 2018, 08:07 You might be looking in all the wrong places.
