Volvo parts

Post by MDK » Tue Jun 12, 2018 4:19 pm

Ok all....as I am pretty new to the forum. I still would like to throw this out here. I don't know what you all know or don't know. What country you may hail from or anything. However here in the United States there is a website that you may be interested in. car-part.com it is an integrated site for all the salvage yards in the lower 48 states (for the ones who sign up of course) and as far as I know will ship to anywhere. the main hub is here in Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky....car-partcom...MDK

Thanks MDK :) I often forget about car-part and remember it just after manually scouring salvage yard inventories near me...

No problem Neil... I've read a few of your posts... the one on your Son's 06 Xc70. completely dissembling front end?...then on the headlight motor?... I thought...wow... these people need help. And thanks to other members here I've gotten some great advice. Why do we love our Volvo's so much when they seem to be such a PITA anyway.?.. I don't know...MDK

car-part site has been around literally forever. I was using them at least as far back as year 2000. Wayback machine has captures of the site dating back to the 1990s. I'm somewhat surprised everybody doesn't know about/use it.

I'm with Kara503. Recalling car-part.com does seem to come and go.

I guess it's our primordial distain for both shipping charges and unknown quality.

So often when a job goes into a couple of hundred bucks (easy to do) the "Euro parts" places often offer free shipping (or hidden shipping charges) so we go there.

Their (car-parts.com) site is very well organized and clear.

Thanks. Volvos are pretty rare here.. I only know of a few S60's and 1 XC70.
