Now you're really selling me on one. The dash noise in my GLT is brain rattling.
MDK wrote: 13 Jun 2018, 11:34 Someone had posted that the reflection from their tan dashboard? I know sometimes mistakingly people will detail their cars with armour all or whatever . If you have a shiny dash ...pour pure rubbing alcohol onto a clothe and it will cut the shininess down and won't hurt the dash... just nuetralize with clear water afterwards....MDK
I like a shiny, clean dash, but the reflection of my beige dash in my P80 is pretty awful. My solution is polarized sunglasses. Works great for me!

It's supposed to be a matte finish if it's actually clean. I've found those magic cleaning sponges are great for getting the new car finish back instead of the layers of old cleaning agents.

There are good products out there for cleaning the dash without the shine. Surf City Garage's Dash Away is a good one for that. It's a really thin liquid that smells like laundry detergent, and it seems to clean really well. I like getting the dash clean, but having the layer of UV protection.
Just using something like alcohol or a magic eraser will get it clean, but it will also dry out the dash and cause damage over time. It doesn't have any UV protection, so it will eventually crack and look nasty.

MDK here...so in defense of my rubbing alcohol/ nuetralize with H20 treatment... I have a 1998 xc70 that I bought and when it came from the detail shop it had a shiny dash. And during the day I couldn't see through the windscreen. I did my dollar store fix DIY and it works. That was 3 years ago ... no cracking or drying out. It's not "skin" .. it's plastic. But .. whatever you want to do... it's your call ... there is what we think and what really is.... kinda like cyberworld .... it's almost like being there.... wherever "there" is... rolling on MDK

Nice car MDK :) I saw a very nice red one a few days ago, the trim had been dyed black and it was absolutely beautiful. I have to say, the '00 XC I owned for about 6 months has been my favorite Volvo so far to daily drive in terms of comfort and overall look and feel. I can only imagine how much better a GLT FWD would be over one with AWD sapping the power.

Mine feels fairly quick with my boost controller up to 9 PSI as long as the A/C is off, haha. My car isn't very smooth to drive though just because of the broken dash mounts, alignment that isn't quite right, and crappy tires.

All easily fixable, though :) How is the boodt repsonse? I love my 850 turbo, but the HPT def has some spool time. My s60 2.5T you can feel it quite quickly, and I havent adjusted the wastegate yet.

The GLT builds boost a lot faster than the T5, that's for sure! The torque off the line is great, but it falls on its face after first gear, just because the 13g doesn't have the flow of the 15g or larger turbos.

Hmm, that's too bad. I wonder if a tune would help you maintain the low end torque and also give you some pickup in the mid range? That's the kind of setup I would like. I'm not a fan of pushing my cars anywhere at all near redline. I start to get uncomfortable at around 4500rpm and it seems like many peoples HPT setups get the most power up there.
