2009 S40 Geartronic shifter innards
The mechanical plastic material behind/underneath the console slot for the gear shifter is damaged in my daughter's S40. Don't know if she forced it or what. The car shifts okay for the default (left side) gear selections, but the optional upshift/downshift does not work. Are there any tutorials out there on how to remove the panel and replace these parts?

I have the part but haven't installed it yet. I'm pretty much 100% sure this is the problem though. The vane/blind is a flexible plastic that is exposed to direct sunlight though the shift slot and becomes hard and brittle over time. New part can be obtained here: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... 99465#desc
