What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today....now sticky!!
Yeah oragex... I read your post about the upside down Autobahn car at 200 km... being an American it's a little hard to imagine how fast that truly is. I'd have to convert it to mph.... either way I can't imagine it would end well. Even if you just walked away unscathed you'd still have egg on one's face after destroying a perfectly good vehicle. For those not wanting to drill holes, below is a very easy-to-install, and low-cost alternative - it wires into the backup light, so the wiring is just some easy splicing in back of the taillights. The beeper is loud enough to be heard if it is also behind trim by the taillights, at least in a wagon. I had one of these in my 240, and put another in my v70.
For challenging parallel parking, such as we face here in NYC, a front-bumper unit also works well, and can be turned on/off with a switch one can add to the underside of the dash.
There are a number of people selling these on eBay, but they are all the same, even the boxes have been identical. Look for the black rectangular box, and the roll of self-adhesive aluminum or copper foil.

1982 240DL: Drove it 32 years and 1.5 million miles (sold, even still had mint leather!)
2001 v70 2.4T: The most expensive $1500 car I ever bought ("Volvo Turbo" - what an oxymoron!) (sold)
2004 v70: Far less fatally-flawed v70 - It served well (sold)
2010 v50: Smaller, slightly sportier wagon. Its got a spoiler, so I upgraded with sway bars!

Given it a good drive. 2083 metres above sea level and back down again. Then checked the oil which was where I last saw it and refilled the washer fluid (gotta love the little pills for summer use).

That’s some beautiful country there. We have a Mr Pruitt and a Mr Watt who can help you preserve it and keep it clean for you, if you need help.
On topic...fixed a $2000 quoted BMW AWD driveline problem with a 29 cent washer so that I get my P2 back for SWMBO business trip. She has to take the BMW.

Tightened the ring around the air pipe at the outlet of the intercooler - it had popped off this morning - too high rev meanwhile running to the workplace by 6000 rev.

Started the PCV job on my 2004 S60 2.4L NA last night. Something where different between the NA and the Turbo version instructions I have seen. Spent at least 20minutes trying to figure out why I couldnt get the intake off before figuring out there is a bolt underneath the intake tied into a pedestal bracket. I dont think the turbo version has this....anyway had to pick up a few new vacuum lines from NAPA on lunch today to replace the two that disintegrated while trying to remove. Should be quick to button up later tonight (fingers crossed).

Perfectly OK.
The location is France on the way up to Lac du Mont Cenis. Just next to the Italian border across which the road became narrower and pretty much winding down the side of a cliff.

As a side note. If you'd be driving rural French and Italian roads all the time you'd need to subscribe to bushings and shocks. That or do like the locals and wear a cheap Fiat or Peugeot out completely every three or four years..

Today I swapped the center console from an '05 S60 into my '04 V70. I liked the more enclosed format of the armrest & console in the 05. It was mostly a clean swap, tho the fake wood plate surrounding the shifter needed to be dremelled a little to fit the edge cleanly. I'll post an image when I upload it.
