Five posts above ThreeBear included a picture of his PCV job.
1) How many miles were on the engine before you did the PCV?
2) Gotta LOVE that there's a claw hammer n the picture.

1) 2004 S60 2.4NA with 168,000. I bought the car with 80,000 and I do not believe it had been done. I didn't have any blow by or oil leaks but I did fail the glove test.

When I removed the oil trap I was surprised to see no real blockage at all, I was nervous that the replacement PCV wouldn't solve my positive crankcase issue but it did!

I am assuming something inside the oil trap was clogged up.

2) Tried to use the hammer to tap the 10mm onto the 'almost impossible to access' intake bolt. Mixed results.

A 1/4 inch drive ratchet, extension, and wobble will work on this.

Trolling my own discussion from a few weeks ago:

Somebody at Volvo appears to likey those VAG style bag hooks too.
Were these available in the -2018 S90 or might it be really true that VCC people keep an eye on the little things we do?

Technically I started yesterday but just came home:

Drove it 2 000 km. Italy to Sweden. Took about 27 hours with a three hour nap, two ferries and a few leg stretching and feeding pauses.

Car looks terrible now. The 5 000 km of brake dust from the last three weeks will take some scrubbing.

Mine was the same, not clogged but the box had failed anyway (same non turbo engine)

Too late now, but these should be replaced as early as 80k miles imo, because that's about when the box gets brittle and fails internally

Replaced one pair of sliding pins in the rear. One came out like this. The rubber not even sitting in the hole in the caliper anymore.. :-P

Yay for me. This was during the weekend though. Sharp piece of gravel had punched right through the middle of the tread. Had to have it replaced with a decent used one which was cheap. Probably have to replace all four by spring anyway.
