You really should NEVER see this light - and look up the cost/hours on a fuel pump replacement to remind you why this is a bad idea.
I hear the function of this light really depends on intellectual capabilities of the driver. So for you, it very likely isn't an idiot light. Now with some of the folks I've dealt with in the past - it could be the near death light, the advanced capabilities light, or it could be the "you're special" light.

Earlier in the week on my '99 V70 XC (Build date 12/98) we (abscate and myself) found the cause of my evap large leak (P0455?) - the hose wasn't attached between the charcoal canister and the solenoid. Ultimately many different designs for retrofit were designed and tested - none really worked due to the clearances involved and the difficulty of putting my fat hands in such a small space. I eventually put the rubber "U" hose (Not J or L hose) back on and secured it with zip ties. Thus far I believe I've successfully slayed the P0455 dragon - for now. I have had almost a week of no light on. I'm almost tempted to scan the car and see if the bulb burned out =)

I'm currently trying to somewhat compete a drive cycle without my CEL coming back on for P0455. Hoping to finally get the car inspected tomorrow.

Rumor has it setting fire to virgins in volcanoes may appease the P0455 gods. Unfortunately there are so few virgins and active volcanoes that your options are few.

A lot of small choirs!

- changed out wornout nivomats with used ones from junkyard, car is not sagging anymore!
- dual battery relay mod: i can now manually use the 2nd battery to jump start starter battery when needed (preparing for remote holiday trip)
- new switch for auxiliary/extra tailgate lights
- tested VC (good!)
- tightened up transmission mount

A big thank you for my brother, his help was great on changing out the shocks. Really fun job, only took 90 minutes and we were doing things really slowly!

2006 V70 2.4D - bought at 190k miles and going strong
