Do P80 Roof Load Bars Fit P2?

I've got a set of load bars from a '98 V70XC that somebody wants to buy, but he lives about 2 hours from me and is unsure if they will fit his 2003 XC70. Needless to say I'd rather not take that drive to meet him halfway (let alone in my rattly GLT) and find out they don't fit his car.
Does anybody know if the P80 load bars (PN 9483630) will fit a P2?

Won't fit ...up to 2000 only...MDK

I've never tested them but that is my understanding as well, up to 2000 only.

I figured as much. I saw a video from Robert where he got P2 load bars for his 850, but I guess it doesn’t work the other way around.

I don't know as I have never tried and no longer have a set like yours. If I recall those have some adjustment for length. Have him check the distance between the bars compared to a P80. P80 bars are different shape to a P2 so clamp may not be wide enough to fit a P2 load bar.

The spacing is different so they won't fit. At least the Volvo/Thule box section bars from a P80 that I tried on my car were far from being able to fit. Or at least one of them, IIRC one was ok.

I have a pair of those P80 load bars lying around. I doubt that they fit a P2, but will give it a go later today and then report back.

Like I said in the other thread I posted in the P2 section, these are length adjustable. I had the same thought, though, about them not being able to clamp on.

Well, much to my surprise, the ones that I have do fit on my 2004 V70 with factory roof rails with a bit of adjustment room to spare. The only part number I could find was 9192075 which was found on the inside of the four corner covers. Each rail is a different length. I measured the length of the curved track that the rubber strips fit into. One was 37" and the other 39". With the adjustable bits fully extended, the maximum length end to end was 44" & 46". IIRC I may have pulled them off of a model wagon prior to the 850/V70 generation. I'm not too familiar with those model numbers.

Don't know if this helps or adds to confusion.
