passenger seat belt pulled all the way out and wont go back
My passenger seat belt pulled all the way out and won't go back. Wondering how I get the covering off around the seat belt to look at everything inside. I called the dealer and asked about it and they said it may need a new tensioner and that would cost about $800 to $900. Thought I would try to see what I can do before going this rout- If anyone can tell steps on how to remove the covering and if I can solve
MDK here. If you're saying the belt won't retract into the door pillar...then ya .. I know what you mean. I've had that happen before. The cover itself just snap locks into place. Pretty simple really. Sometimes they just get hung up. Try pulling the belt out as far as it will come and it might just be stuck a little bit. I worked on one for about 15 minutes before it finally decided to retract.... unless the spring is busted... which I doubt

Mine did that. I can’t recall exactly what it all looked like inside but I know I had to buy another pyrotechnic unit from a scrapper. Come to think of it I believe I had to replace the entire belt with it???? (Over five years ago.) It wasn’t rocket science but if you start messing with the tensioner or wiring, be sure to disconnect the battery - just in case.

I would say at this point.... without seeing it. You should replace the whole unit. If disconnect the battery an before... they say that the SRS . will discharge and won't go off. You'll probably have to unblock the buckle from the seat. I believe that is a T 44 torx bit. I had do that when I replaced the seats in an 850 wagon I used to have. You'll be fine, take your time.MDK
