I'd like to buff up my 2007 v70 2.5t (142k miles) with some new fog light lenses. I understand the fog light is a single unit and I can't just replace the lenses. The problem is I can't find any aftermarket (e.g. TYC) fog lights for this car. The only parts I find in the U.S. are Genuine Volvo and a tad pricey. (skandix.de appears to have something, but the 50 euro shipping charge to the U.S. is prohibitive)

Is this fog light design too rare/limited for anyone to make an aftermarket part?

The 70 and the 60 share the same fog lights unless it's an R edition... if they are cracked .. scrapyard.i...f sandblasted... try putting some sand into some turtle wax with screw gun and buffing pad attached...buff till clear ( if they're glass of course)

These lenses are plastic. I wouldn't use sand.
MDK here... sorry guys I didn't realize the newer ones were plastic... I would never intentionally post something misleading. I paint so... they're are varing degrees of " sand". .. just a little goes along way when added to wax and the glass gets foggy. The macQuier lens restore did a great job on the rear taillights of my xc70 ... take care

So 2004 and earlier are different?

'04 and before are different style foglights, and the 'R' models are different from non 'R' as well. I had a hell of a time tracking down a used one for my car (on the cheap). The RH side reflector was broken when I bought it, which is typical because there isn't enough clearance between the back of the fog and the washer fluid reservoir. If you bump anything down low on the right side, such as a parking stop/curb, the back of the fog gets pushed back and damaged. There was a right angle plug used on some of the XC models to increase this clearance (and prevent parking damage to the RH fog assembly). Why on earth Volvo didn't use it on all of them is real a head scratcher.
The PN for the right angle plug is 30795071

You only need one for the RH side. The left side has clearance and doesn't get broken. If you're going to go through the trouble of replacing the RH fog, there's little point to it unless you also get the right angle socket/plug. It'll eventually just get broken again if you don't. Either you'll misjudge how close you are to a parking stop, or somebody else you let drive the car will do it.

I have fixed broken fog light lenses on my old 2001 and 2002 XC70 by removing the cracked glass and replacing it with clear plexiglass and then sealing it shut with silicon. One lasted a year and a half without issues, at which point I parted ways with the car. I assume it still works. The other one my brother drives and it is still going strong.
The only issue is the glass is curved and off the shelf plexiglass is flat. If you look at it carefully you can tell, but the fix was time only as I had the parts laying around. Most people cannot tell - and repaired looks a ton better than broken.
Process is straight forward - remove glass and clean up glue - trace shape onto plexiglass and cut and sand to size, then reseal.
Just an option.
