P0171 - what is this part? Topic is solved

hi all

i have been encountering the P0171 code for the last few years. my car is a 2007 2.4i FWD.

the PCV recall has been done about 3 years ago. recently, i brought the car into volvo and they diagnosed a vacuum leak via a smoke test. the leak was found by the vacuum line attached to the intake manifold.

they were able to clear the code and have been driving fine without a CEL. they advised to replace the whole intake manifold as there was a missing part. Until today, the CEL came back after a spirit drive. i guess it unseated the vacuum line slightly.

i have been looking for this red quick release collar part (indicated in green) but have been unsuccessful. does anyone know what the part number is or name? it connected the brake line vacuum assembly into the intake manifold plenum.



my plan B is to use some high temp silicone.

plan C would be to change the intake manifold.

i have cleaned the MAF, TB and have a KN filter. this has not helped.

It is the engine end of the Vacuum hose assembly, Volvo part number 31201432. It is sold only as a complete hose assembly.

i was able to find the vacuum hose assembly, but not the connector at the end that mates it to the intake manifold. that's the red collar i showed above.

I just wrapped mine with self-fusing silicon tape. No more leaks.
