Part number control arm 2001 V70XC

Post by zegers »

The part numbers are confusing me. I have a 2001 V70XC Cross Country and ordered control arms. I received control arms that had the hole for the ball joint one inch to close to the frame. The number on the old ones are 08624553 and 08624552, but with a internet search nothing comes up. Does anyone know the right part numbers? On my 2001 V70XC the distance is 11.5 inch, like in the picture.

According to the Tasca Volvo parts list for 2001 XC70, the P/N is 36051004 for the LH and 36051005 for the RH.

There are six different Control arms for each side. You will need your Chassis number, Brake size and Factory code(1) to determine which two of the twelve you need.

Which engine does it have?

It not a ex-police or ex-taxi car is it? Them two a in classes of their own.

(1) For 2001 V70 not XC70.

YZ1SZ58D211002356 This is my VIN. The local dealer will only give me the part numbers for the control arms if I buy them there.

Good business practices. They can have your contact information after you buy from another dealer.

The Volvo parts Lisle site is great for parts information, plug in your VIN, and go to front suspension section.

Volvo part numbers can be rather confusing as they like to continually supersede numbers with some new number. Not sure why they do that unless maybe each time they switch suppliers they generate a new number???

For instance, three legacy part numbers for a RH control arm have all been rolled up to a new P/N:

30736388, 36012460, and 30635232 have all been superseded by 36051005.

Chrism is correct:

These are just for OEM Volvo part numbers. There is a stew of Aftermarket part numbers not listed here.
36051005: OEM Cross Reference: 36012460, 30635232, 8649546,
36051004: OEM Cross Reference: 36012459, 30635231, 8649545, 8646373.

The replacement part numbers he got is not on the list.
