My wagons gauge has not worked since I bought it in January. I went and got a sending unit from the u pull it and ohm tested it. I did ohm test the current one and it is showing resistance of 0.21 and is about right by my mileage, 10+/- gallons used up. The one I pulled the other day goes from 0.06 to 0.34. So before I pulled the old one I hooked up the new one where it should be full at 0.06 and still nothing.

The gauge when first turned on goes up and stays at the empty line.
The yellow and red wire has no power going to it.
Where should I check first for power?

Checked under the dash and the red/yellow has no power at the harness connection on either side of it.

I recently pulled mine, disassembled it and inspected it because it was 'sticking' at times when low. It would indicate less gas than there actually was (fortunately...). I gently smoothed/polished all of the sliding parts. It's been fine since.

You'll need a wiring diagram to follow it. 850's should be similar.

I have tried it, doesn't work this time. It would work on my son's old Dakota when it's gas gauge would act up but no such luck.
