The light is on constantly as was the ABS light. I found an ABS wire sliced in half and replaced it, now I just have the DSTC light remaining. The Volvo dealer pulled the codes and it was ABS 00B2. It is a tilt speed sensor that I’m not sure even exists on the car. Does anyone have any experience with this code? Is the ABS module shot? Can I put a new one in without dealer reprogramming?

First I've heard of it. Are you perhaps speaking of the "yaw sensor".

It's a small, plain, single plug silver box which is bolted to the floor under the front passenger's seat. I suppose it can just plain age and fail though I've read it is subject to moisture damage when windows are left open or moon roof drains clog.

My SIL's went on her Volvo but I cannot recall if she mentioned the code or if the dealer even gave her one. I do have the vague recollection that it caused the DSTC warning.

Let me complete this "educational guess" by saying that said sensor was $550 at a dealership.
A local junkyard told me the sensor isn't on standardized junkyard cataloging programs so people don't keep track of them.
Another yard verified all this and the boss went out and fetched one himself (after 5 reminder phone calls).

It plugged in and worked perfectly.

I believe it's a part used by many manufacturers (like the odor sniffer used in IAQS system) so it isn't addressed to the car.
Maybe you can remove one yourself at a pick n' pull for $1. We had to pay $100 plus s+h.

I hope this is what you're speaking of. If you found one for $1 it'd be worth a try.

Check sunroof drain channels as usually yaw sensors fail as a result of water ingress.

Thanks for the replies. Does this car have 2 yaw sensors? I keep reading about another sensor either under the front end or under the dash?

Nope only one under the seat

Took the yaw sensor out from under the seat and it had a white kind of corrosion on the outside, the bracket was rusted and the two bolts attaching it were corroded. The connection didn’t look like it was corroded from what I could tell. I ordered another sensor and am hoping it will fix the problem.

Where's the acceleration sensor located Mr. abscate?
To the OP: What'd they hit you for? The part listed for $550 when my SIL's went out but Tasca was having a $50 off sale. Ya-hoo only $500!

ps The XC-90 with the Connecticut junkyard (Chuck & Eddie's) yaw sensor is now living in Colorado. Since "niecey" hasn't gone over any cliffs I have to conclude it worked.

Number 5 in Mikes picture post above - looks like it mounts next to the yaw sensor.
