Replaced the master window switch (1998 OE) in the '00 V70 after it would no longer raise the rear passenger window. Luckily, I had an aftermarket one on hand that was a snug fit but didn't require modification like the other one I replaced.

Picked up a new (to me) 1998 V70 T5 with 200k miles.

Got rear-ended in the '00 V70 by a shiny white Saab that seemed to have borne the brunt of the impact — until later, when I noticed that the rear bumper, which I had fixed a few months ago, was again angled downward. The new bumper brackets seem to have lost their right angles. Hoping I can straighten them.

Fortunately that damage sounds pretty minor. Don't these Saab owners know better than to ram into other Swedish cars?

I bet that T5 feels pretty fast compared to your NA V70s!

I'd like to think the owner of that 2011 Saab was awestruck by the beauty of the P80 design, but he claimed to have been fiddling with his navigation system.

I haven't yet really opened up the throttle on the T5, but it did feel nimble on the short highway run I did!

Haha, that's probably what it was!
I hope it wasn't a 9-5! Those 2010-2011 9-5s are dropping like flies because people keep wrecking them! It's unfortunate, they're rare cars.

The T5 just keeps pulling in the high end. It's much more fun than my GLT that runs out of steam rather quickly. The T5 is similar to my old 9-5 Aero, most of the power is up top.

The Saab nav systems? Luckily mine didn't have one. It's one of those things that's cool to have, but I'd rather have some kind of Android-based head unit if anything. Otherwise I like minimal "entertainment" options in a car. Keeps the weight and power draw down!

Repaired the PCV circuit, as I suspected the PCV system to be clogged up good. I noticed quite some oil when I mounted the silicone intake. And it seems I was right, as 2 of the 3 holes were fully clogged (car has 316k kms on it). I bought a kit which also replaced the long hose, but after some inspection, that looked like a lot of work for a thursday evening.

Checked all hoses en cleaned the banjo bolt + hole. Replaced the oil separator and the 2 other connecting hoses. The pictures speak for themselves...

On a positive note, the valves all looked ok

Big advantage when you drive a S80: you have quite some room for DIY maintenance.

And bought some OEM rubber Volvo floormats, which are far easier to maintain

Funk in the trunk I just don't seem to appreciate. It was time for a more thorough cleaning of these...

Weapons of choice: 1. strongly mixed upholstery solution applied with a wash mit, 2. rinse with a POWER SPRAYER, 3. suck out the rinse water with an Upholstery wand.

Someday I'll pull the front driver side carpet and do the same. The upholstery wand by itself has trouble getting out sand and salt that's caked deep down into the pile/backing.

On a probably related note, I came across this little 'OCD test' earlier...15/15 in a couple minutes only by looking with my eyes says I'm full tilt.
