Volvo Brake Line

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Volvo Brake Line

Post by trumpetted »

Volvo s80
2001
VIN # YV1TS94D611176016

I am looking for Volvo part number 9140857 brake pipe/brake line for the front passenger side of my 2001 Volvo s80. I realize it has been discontinued and is no longer being produced. I am sending emails all over the world trying to find this part new or used. Do you have any idea where I can find this brake line? A wonderful old 235,000 mile Volvo s80 (original owner) may go to the wrecking yard if I cannot locate this part. Thanks!!!

You signed the message Penn Valley, CA that is why I look at the Antelope, CA yard (50 miles).
Use the Pick-n-Pull link there maybe something closer to where you really are.

I did not realize at first where the Antelope yard was located. I went to the yard today and pulled a perfect condition line out of a 2003 s80. The only difference is the fitting on the distribution side is larger on the "99-01 than on the following years. The car is now at a local shop and they said they can make the alteration to the line without any issue. I started off replacing all of the rubber brake lines as they were cracked and had several soft spots. The car is mostly a CA car but it did spend some years in a snowy climate. The rubber lines were very difficult to separate from the hard lines. I succeeded on the first three but that drivers side front is where I damaged the hard line. The shop is going to install the new line and bleed the brakes. Thanks so much for your suggestion! You are helping keep my old Volvo on the road!!!

I am so glad you got what you needed! It made me sick the other day to read it might be junked over a brake line. June

If you're still looking for the brake line, try:

http://www.autodisassemblyvolvo.com/parts.html
(More likely to have used)

http://voluparts.com/
(More likely to have new)

Either place can ship to you.

You can make up hard lines using a flare tool and the line you buy at a FLAPS.

One of the reasons MFG drop these from the parts supply chain is that they are easily made up.

a NAPA store can do this for you. Overcome the initial 'legal won't let us' objection with beer.
