SC-816 radio questions

Hi All:

My 2000 V70 has an SC-816 radio. I have been using a cassette adapter so that I can play mp3s from an old ipod in the car. I think the belt in the cassette player has broken-- the auto-reverse now flips about once a second, whether with the adapter or with a cassette.

I am interested in the aux input mod that has been described here. Will this work with a broken cassette player belt? If not, does anyone have a spare SC-816 in good working order?

I think I have one in my 1999 part out thread, Herb. I know I have the radio code, too.

Is aurora in the GTA ??

Yes, Aurora is about a half hour drive from Toronto, if the traffic gods cooperate (which doesn't happen often!)...

Hi Herb,

Sorry for the delay getting to the radio(s) but had to get the 4 wheels back on the wagon to get to the shelf!

As it turns out I have x2 SC-816's. Both tested except for the cassette as I have none to check with!

The upper one is the nicer unit although both are pretty clean. The lower one is actually a factory reconditioned unit, but as the date was 1998 not sure that stands for anything!

Hello! Need good photos of the motherboard of the Volvo SC 816. From both sides. No need to unsolder the board to take a good photo from above. Whatever works out. Thanks in advance.

There were a couple of good photos in a VRD piece on soldering in a plug connection for AUX input from an iPhone.

Thank you for trying to help. I need a full photo of the SC-816 motherboard. I searched on Google and on the site, but found only 805, 810, 836.
P.S. Photos are needed for repairs.
