04 XC70 Turn Signal Switch
04 XC70 Turn Signal Switch
I just started getting intermittent left turn signals and it seems to be in the column switch as I can move the lever a bit and it will make contact. Is there a good write up on changing these out? Thanks.

The stalk is fitted with one screw onto the steering column. Just remove the rubber around its base and you'll see it. Very easy to replace. Get one from the same year and it'll be fine.

I've had the same problem on both of our P2 cars. In both cases I was able to dismantle the switches, clean the internal contacts, and that got them working again. No extra parts required.
In a lot of cases the problem is the grease they use on the contacts - it hardens with old age and becomes more of a hindrance than a help. Clean them out with electronics cleaner or alcohol, scraping the contacts clean. Then apply a TINY bit of dielectric grease to the contacts and internal mechanicals.
Like all small switches, disassemble it on a towel and be careful as there may be tiny springs, etc., that will go flying. It ain't rocket science.
