1999 V70T5M56 AC evap 9171781 and heater core 9144221 replacement (Pics end of thread)

Question:

YOu were able to take the dash out one of the doors...I'm wondering if one could also take it out the back tailgate also then? turn it the long way? maybe? no? yes?

I got this out solo but having just done this again on a 99, I have no clue how I did that.

Definitely get a helper on this. Even two helpers standing at each door, with center person guiding it out , clearing wires, is not too many.

Retrospective look at this job

OK - decision time. Ive decided Im going to replace all (eight) cooling group hoses since I want another 50k miles out of this car.

Glad I went OEM, 7 years and 120k miles later



A Dremel is a god send on this job - that would make removing the evap really easy. Just zip through the aluminum as far in as you can reach to avoid the hard steel lines. Out on the bench, you can easily get the last of the aluminum evap line out with the AC tool from the FLAPS
