Repairing head gasket dismantleing
I am dismantleing my c70 head when I attempted to line up timing mark crankshaft is very hard to see I thought that it was in position but the cam marks are approximately a quarter turn counter clockwise before the timing mark on the cover. Any advise , car was blowing air into radiator and overflow bottle.

It sounds like you mistaking something else for the Crankshaft timing mark.
Turn the engine until the Camshaft marks line up ,then look again for the Crankshaft marks.
A lighted, USB Endoscope comes in handy for viewing the Crankshaft marks.
