good day
I need some help with the rf engine mounting the one under the timing cover. mine has seemed to fall flat and the vibrations from it are intolerable. is there a way to change it in a cheap way for now till I save up for it. Volvo parts here are very expensive.
I got a price from a parts dealer and almoast fell on my back $150 if im making my soms correctly.Has anyone made a mod or used a different standard round mounting to replace this one.
I think it can work if you make a plate out of metal to just bolt on top of it and on to the block

I got that quote from the dealer here as well. About 150 USD.
Take a walk on the wild side, and order yourself the URO part from Amazon instead, for 19 USD. I know everyone usually rags on URO, but I took a shot with this one, and it's held up for 1.5+ years now. Looks a little ragged, but a Volvo tech yanked on it the other day when checking something for me, and pronounced it good. So I'd think that's a better idea than trying to cobble something together yourself.
It's this one: "URO Parts 9135178 Right Engine Mount"

Never thought I'd agree that a URO part would be the lesser of two evils...
But, yeah - If money is tight, it would probably be a better solution.

Rein Febi and Meyle all make that mount for under $30 - lots of choices other then the infamous URO

Wasn't there a URO rep on here a while ago, going on about them having changed things around, using better materials and stuff? I seem to remember us even talking about opinions on a name change...
Anyway, as the others have said - Meyle and Febi also have that mount for 25-35 bucks. URO is the cheapest, and I may just have been super lucky with mine, but it has held up for 18+ months now, and even checked by a Volvo tech a couple of weeks ago.
They're all better than a cobbled together, home made solution in any case.

I'd also try the junk yard. Surely someone there has already replaced it, and you'll see if it has held up well. Well, at least that's where mine came from (S60). Only thing is it takes a small bottle jack to support the engine, some junkyards don't allow these
