Just arrived home safe and sound. I hope my little get away will inspire you Volvoers out there to take your Volvo out for fun. No matter where you live there must be at least a day trip to a interesting place. Why not take that trip and share it with us in Volvoland! If you can drive where the road takes you and find fun like I did even better!!! June

mrbrian200 wrote: 02 Aug 2018, 10:04 Your little friend just adores you, June. I know that look. I had a longhair mini Dachsund for 15 years up to about 2 years ago. Anytime I packed a suitcase, or asked him "Do you want to go for ride?!" if I let him out he'd waddle straight out to the car and park it outside the drivers door and wait to go. After about 10 minutes he'd start getting 'impatient' if I didn't either leave (with him) or pick him up and take him back into the house.
You are soooooo right. He never leaves my side. Are you going to get another Dachshund? This is my first Yorkie and I really like the breed. June

Someday likely. May or may not be another Dachshund. I like the highly intelligent breeds + companion/pair bonding types. Of the toy breeds the mini longhair Dachshunds are a good match for me. They also tend to be more laid back and snuggly than the short or wire hairs. But for my next bestie I'm thinking along the lines of one of the intelligent doglike cats: a Tonkinese. When I don't know. I've been around dogs my whole life. But this little boy was different (pic). Felt like I lost a child. I was mess for months.

He 'helped' me take apart an alternator once when he was a year or two old. He looked very interested in what I was doing so I sat down on the floor to do it. He inspected every part I pulled out of the thing. You could see his little wheels turning trying to figure out what that stuff all was supposed to be like a little kid asking what-what-why?... He watched me put it back together very intently.

Actually I was on a neat old dirt road on a tall hill! This trip has been fun and my old Volvo has performed admirably. Now in Louisiana headed for Mississippi. Also saw a neat turtle and crop duster plane.

Hey look....it’s BmDubs...R

Rats..meant to post the turtle photo

Shepard Huskie mix. She is very submissive, just wants to make her pack happy, but’s also very clever. We also call her the A-bomb dog because nothing upsets her. Her partner the black lab is terrified of everything...rain, thunder, fireworks, guys.

What great photos Abscate and Mrbrian200! Thank you for sharing them. Abscate you left the black lab out of the photo? Dogs are such a gift. June

Very cool to read through this... I’d love to take a trip across the country one day just for the experience.

I did it in 1985, in a 71 VW Bus...with a supermodel I met in college.

Still married to her...
