What a busy Volvo week I had:
Got a new Bosch rear caliper. Put it on my 96 R. Put the old caliper from the R onto the 94 T5M. Plus new Zimmermann rotors and pads. Now the brakes are nice again. Prepped and painted the sheet metal hidden underneath the rear inner fenders on the 94 with POR 15. Quite some rust hidden behind them. Upgraded the stereo on the 94 to 6 speakers and a subwoofer for a total of 2 Euros because I had so much stuff left over from way back when. Charged the battery. Drained and refilled the ATF on the 96. As usual, the dipstick is a b...h to read. Drained 4.2 liters, refilled with 4 and seems to be high. Gonna drain again after the vavation. Replaced some atf oil from the PS reservoir. Ordered new gates timing belt and got a Mann oil filter. Drove 250 miles with the R and washed it. Still trying to hunt down noises while driving over bumpy roads. I am starting to believe they were noisy from the factory. Found the oil and tranny cooler lines to be rusty at the connections. I hate rust. Thinking about replacing the lines.
What did you do to your Volvo today? Topic is solved

I grabbed some things for the R and the 740 at the junkyard yesterday morning and figured I would go ahead and yank it out yesterday afternoon so I could get it all back together today.
I'll see if I can find some butyl tape at Lowe's or Home Depot. I'll put some along the front edges of the dash. Anything to cut down on more squeaking sounds great to me! I want a silent dash! I'll deal with the trunk area noise later.
Next week I'll drop the headliner and re-glue it finally. I'll probably investigate then since I have to remove all of the upper panels.
Hahaha, I'll be passing both of you soon enough my friend!

Replaced this sucker

And got IPD's HD Viton oil cap seal. Will be interested to see if this keep oil from leaking onto the cam cover. It's <1mm thicker but definitely snugs the cap up tighter

Very funny!
Wow, that old one was awful! Was it a polyurethane bushing? It doesn’t look stock.sventastic wrote: ↑04 Aug 2018, 12:52 Replaced this sucker

Yes it is!
And yeah absolutely, it's it's totally in the bin with the other 100% still usable parts...
Yeah I think it's poly based on it being a two-piece unit like the blue one that replaced it, I think it might actually be the older style of the IPD mount based on the previous owner's propensity for installing IPD-sourced partsbmdubya1198 wrote: ↑04 Aug 2018, 21:30

Probably an older style. I see a lot of those bushings on junkyard cars, the problem with them is that the outer diameter is too small for the bracket, and they move around. I had that problem and I swapped it for a new Lemforder rubber mount (huge PITA to press in). I want to get the current iPd mount for my R.sventastic wrote: ↑05 Aug 2018, 04:18
