Check voltage at Battery lowest should be 13.8 if lower Robert DIY can show the trick I learned by soldering red line on the battery it worked perfect.

13.8V is a charging voltage from the alternator, if the battery is fully charged it will drop to 12.7 -12.8.
Open circuit ~12.73V = 100% SoC (State of Charge).

Good to know when I had that problem voltage at battery was 11.7 and I opted with the soldering trick.

Ok, new negative cable installed on Saturday, a slight improvement, New positive cable from terminal to starter lug on Sunday and it sounded better. The battery was on a charger over night but it never got started. It did fire up once or twice but that was it. New battery purchased yesterday, same one as before, now just over a year old. Installed this morning and not much of an improvement.
Back to the head scratching event.

You should check voltage between cable at starter and ground at starter specifically while cranking. I suspect that you don’t have 12.6v.
