V50 leak - passenger side front into the footwell
Hi I have a leak on my lovely v50, it pours down the passenger side front into the footwell. I have tried everything, re-sealing the windscreen and all around the area. is this a common problem or am I just unfortunate? any suggestions/remedies would be appreciated. thanks

I think a lot has been written about this- it's the drains in the sun room...they are clogged or detached. If I find something more about this, I will post back.

Hi
A couple of years later, but did you get this sorted?
I have a UK 2009 V50 _without_ a sun roof and have a leak coming down driver's RHS foot well, I think the water soaks into the foam backed lining on the wall to the front of the door and comes into the foot well. For 6 months I've been without carpets because it was soaked into the backing. Might have the same issue on passenger side too. So far all the hits I've seen for this have either been for the sun roof (don't have one) or other Vx0 models that have different air intakes under the wiper assembly.
Cheers
Colin

There are indeed plenty of places where the water can come in. I have an S60 but I guess some components are similar. These are just a few more places to inspect, there are other similar videos on Youtube www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzpaJ4ulRic

Went through that video earlier in the year and used it as a guide to remove the carpets, which were soaking and are _still_ out, although now dried out.
Also back then I removed the shroud above the wiper assembly hopeful of finding a blocked intake but alas there was non-such.
I removed it again to recheck last weekend but the only items of interest were some plastic flaps that drain the area into the wheel arches. Apart from dropping on of those into the wheel arch and having to retrieve it (!) they both appeared in order and not blocked.
Thanks for the reply.
Never been damaged, owned since new.
Don't think it's coming from the door seal, from the pattern of where the water is coming from, I taped sections of paper along the whole interior to see which one got wet. Door seals in general are known as point of entry for leaks, I know some manufacturers use double door seals, so I've already had a look at it.
