We offer quality service for fix electronics issues and program modules for Volvo. We have a "little bit" (more than 10 years) experience in repair electronic systems of volvo. We can help you online also. We have a online technology for diagnosis your car, and if need, we can program some things (clone modules, for example) online.

I'm familiar with GM's setup....long story short, it can't be done. Going to auto salvage and reclaiming programmed parts (instrument cluster, modules, etc) will not work.

It's really doubtful Volvo is any different.

Is it possible, yes, but someone would have to have spent countless hours figuring out how to do it, and be a super geek programmer, who wants to violate copyright laws, and chance going to court. Can you say Fat Chance a super geek programmer is going to waste their time, when only a small market would exist for their efforts?

Aftermarket setups could get the engine running, and even transmission to shift, with the rest of that electronic stuff being dead, not working.

See this thread: when buying a used ETM what will work without a reprogram?

I am not familiar with Volvo specific "hacks," but I did come across this below, and I have no idea which Volvos this relates to, nor what can actually be done. This is not cheap equipment.

DiagProg4 functions

Reading and writing EEPROM memory via diagnostic connection
(all parameters).

Flash EEPROM Emulation reading/writing via OBDII with easy data
implementation.

Reading and programming FLASH memory via diagnostic connection
(tuning, calibration).

Programming of immobilizers, keys and remotes.

Clearing (erasing) accidents.

Programming electronic modules after repair or change.

Programming used ECU’s to factory state (VIRGIN function
====================================================

Myself, I would have used a repair shop

I apologize for my ignorance, but apparently I do not exactly understand your next message also. I am realy sorry. ((
If I understand you correctly, do you want to say that doublebug can not program a used ETM? You do not trust his messages?

Do your homework....It appears that ETM firmware can be copied, and then put in a donor ETM of like vehicles.. But, who are you going to get, and how much will they charge.

I am familiar with GM equipment, not Volvo. All of this programming is copyright protected, in US territory. I have no interest in this topic, and my solution is to fix existing equipment.

Spend your time over in this forum: in this section: Airbag, ChipTuning, Dash, ECU, IMMO, Locksmith, Radio, SatNav

I suspect, from my quick reads, is Diagprog 4 may or may not work....and it cost much....

If I do not wrong, any copyright protections are valid if you use official subscription and you are agree with polices. You can read official polices. I know about it. But if know how to extract flash memory and put it to anothe unit use own methods or some aftermarket equipment like programmers for example, I do not think that you are violating some copyrights.
But actually, I think this big question, special about globalization...and philosophy.

I read this forum a bit, but sorry, I nothing can say about this equipment, I never use it and never interested it also. I try to use own technologies only for work.
