I plan to take the car in to see my Indy mechanic but I was just curious if anyone had an opinion on what might be the cause of this sound. I get a thump, thump, thump, type sound as I drive the car along the road and it gets louder when I turn the steering wheel to the right.
The car has good tires (Michelin's) on her with plenty of tread left. Is this perhaps a wheel bearing replacement or something else?
Thanks.
Thumping sound from LF wheel

A tire can be faulty.
If you feel it's a front tire try relocating the tire to the rear axle.
If you're unsure which side it is (L or R) transfer them BOTH to the rear axle.
Funny suggestion: Make sure you've tightened all the lugs correctly.

Check for a nail, screw or tack embedded in the tyre also.
They can be picked up sometimes without causing the tyre to deflate, until you pull it out of course.

I haven't touched the tires yet since purchasing this car. It seems weird that it would be a tire since the sound increases when I turn the steering wheel to the right or when I increase speed. I hope that is all it is. It is definitely coming from the left, front tire though.

Funny enough, this was exactly what happened to a 740 I once owned. Thumping sound was due to a front tyre not securely tightened. I still blame some mischievous kid for this.Funny suggestion: Make sure you've tightened all the lugs correctly.

Funny enough, what then is the proper torque and does one do each lug nut across from the other?
